The batch of 2018-21
The age between 20-21
The year 2021
And an unsolicited event "pandemic".
The month of July 2018, most of us aged 17-18 rushing for documents, the TC, migration, character certificate. The first sense of responsibility brushed our hands touched our shoulders.
The councelling, the hostel and the drizzling weather. The greenery is the beauty of universities of India, no doubt but the campus of BHU holds a different position in terms of lush green trees and 1-3 km of walk for a single task(lol).
Many of you may not have transferred during your school life, those who have experienced transfers also hold innumerable memories of friends, teachers (mentor for the so called crucial journey of boards) and the premises where we have spent 14500 hours on an average.
Graduation is a journey of 3 years together with new faces altogether.
During the first month we exchanged phone numbers only..tbh.
New faces from new places...and the introductions.
Understanding the civilization of senior and junior relationship.
And the murmurs of freshers party from starting to the celebration with hoots and the after talks and buzz.
And then,
Dang! 1st semester exam dates out!! Get out of your reverie.
From second year on it becomes inevitable to not think about the future prospects. But still we are in college and a coffee is enough to spent a whole day hanging out with your friends to whom you can't say noooo and you don't even want to.
Still we had 1 year in hand to decide what we have to do and how we have to do.
But in the mean time, let's enjoy the last few months left in the journey of graduation.
But the nature was planning something unexpected for us.
Boom!! "The pandemic" stepped on the threshold. And we were swept away from the place we have already started to miss.
We expected to spent at least the last few month or days in that premises again with our friends.
But we ended up on our bed, phone in hand and scrolling the social media till the battery drains. And the circle continued for 8-9 months.
It's true that we missed our college and friends but deep down we were not ready for offline exams at all and the online exam is no doubt a pure relief.
And the vivaaaa...it was terrifying as well as rain during the dog days of summer.
And it's over!
We are splitting apart after 3 years. I know most of us don't know everyone of our batch but we're gonna miss the whole lot, since it's an incredible part of our life.
Some of you know very well what you have to pursue after grad, most of you don't.
Good luck to those who are all ready to fly in their new share of sky.
And all the best to those who have yet not decided what they want to pursue.
You can still carve your way to reach the share of your own sky.
Just remember one thing .."sky is the limit".
Most of us are still sprawled on our bed or sofas, fussing over future aspects. You have every right to fuss over the things but stressing over these things could never reap anything. Enjoy the process, enjoy every ounce of this beautiful journey, we call life.
May you all fly with all the beautiful colours of the sky with holding the thread of kindness in your heart.
